And Adam Gontier ! There were nicer pictures. But I couldn't get them. Isn't it such a coincidence that the lead singers of my
two favourite bands both have the name Adam! Haha. Adam
Gontier's voice is completely irresistable.
Three Days Grace songs completely rock. Meaningful, nice
melody, rock tones. WHAT ELSE WOULD I ASK FOR. =).
Oh, and I really like Adam Gontier's + Seether's Broken more
than the one featuring Amy from Evanescence. I never really
liked Evanescence anywhere. Doesn't help that Adam also
collaboarated with Apocalyptica (love them too) on 'I Don't
Care' which is really good.
Well, recently I haven't been able to stop listening to Three
Day's Grace, Apocalyptica, Saving Abel, Seether, Breaking
Benjamin And One Republic. I think I'm getting addicted to the
melancholy sounds. Besides, they sound good. Better than the
cheery songs on the radio. Sad songs have so much more
emotion in them. I can see why these bands always spiral down
depression and addiction to drugs: to emote all these moods for
writing such songs.
I might just go watch 'Behind The Pain', a docu-drama about
Adam Gontier's rehabilitation of his addiction to Oxycontin.
Television Galore
My my. I hate being a tv junkie. Watching any show that comes
along the way. If I'm really bored, and I really dont' want to
study, any crap show on the television will just be absorbed by
me.. like I'm some rubbish bin, watching anything others dont'
want to. Probably shouldn't do that huh, encouraging these
shiteous producers to come up with more shiteous shows, by
deluding them with unreal ratings.
Anyway, here's my real productive schedule. The definition of
productive here of course varies. To an 'O' level student like me,
this is probably like the low productivity, since I did nothing to
score well for my 'O's huh. But who cares.. If only the schedule
as follows puts me en route to being the top scorer. Ha, I'll just
laugh my ass off.
11.00 am: Wake up, eat fattening big breakfast + hotcake +
watch spongebob square pants
11.30 am - 12.30pm: Watch MTV amplified. And my mom was
complaining about the noise.
12.30 pm - 1.00 pm: Watch Fairly Odd Parents (hahaha.
Childish me)
1.oo pm - 1.30 pm: Watch iCarly. Well since iCarly ended 10
minutes earlier, I spent the rest of my time watching Making
the Band 4.
My life up to this point seems to revolve around Nickelodeons and MTV.
Next...
1.30 pm - 4.00 pm: Watch Pushing Daisies online while
intermittently being disturbed by my mom and brothers
4.00 pm - 5.oo pm: Jogging :D Finally something HEALTHY
5.00 pm - 6.30 pm: Bathe, eat dinner in front of the television
which was broadcasting channel 8's Portrait Of Home.
Entertaining to see dysfunctional families
6.30 pm - 7.00 pm: Watch Korean documentary 'Screening
Humanity' on KBS. It's amazing how the mother has 5 boys at
an age of 32, with her eldest child being 13. And she works to 1
am everyday. I respect her.
7.oopm - 8.00pm : NEW EPISODES OF AVATAR (recorded.
Since Avatar screens at 6.30 - 7.30 everyday). Haha. This is
what I look forward to EVERYDAY. For this week at least.
LOVES for Zuko and Sokka haha.
8.00 pm - 10.30 pm: More Pushing Daisies = Wrapped up the
whole series , making it a grand total of 9 episodes in 3 days
11.00 pm - 12.30 pm: Play games. Be it computer or PS2 or PSP.
Who cares.
12.30 pm - 1.30pm: Watch more shows. Usually Raven or any
korean shows my mom is watching.
Heh. I love my day. Watching Television isn't that bad you
know.
Good points
- Helps me improve my English :D. Heh. Watching Pushing
dasies made me realise that awry is pronounced as (oh-ri)
not (oh-re). Haha. Of course it might be the American way
of pronouncing. But do I care to open my dictionary.. Not
really.
- Burns some fats. An hour of chortles apparently burns off
1 chocolate bar. So if I watch Friends the whole day, which
is about 15 hours at least, that would be 15 whopping bars.
Or if I dont' eat bars.. It would at least be one meal. Not bad
considering not much effort is put into this.
- Some ideas for my English essay. Of course, in the exams
I couldn't write about a guy who can bring the dead back to
life with a touch of his finger, then banish them to eternal
sleep with another touch, or about a boy who can bend air
fire earth and water. But.. there are certain viable story lines
ok, the Bad points:
- I do realise that this hours wasted could put me into
finishing my whole Bio book. IN A DAY. Which would
potentially be more productive. But would I reach such
levels of satisfaction as I have today. NO. So would I have
spent my day any differently?. A resounding NO.
You know, watching shows & playing games like this makes my
brain dead. I know. Because my brain really becomes rusty,
refuses to think. Hell, I think I wouldn't even be able to do my
times table now. I know its bad. But there are many things
out there which I really like, and I'm sure everybody likes which
we all know is not good. But who gives a damn?

Pushing Daisies
My, do I like this show. Along with the Terminator: The Sarah
Connor Chronicles, I've found the two shows I decided to atch,
replacing the void left behind by American Idol, Survivor &
Project Runway 3. Haha. Hey, thats a reduction from THREE
to TWO :D.
Pushing Daisies about a guy who can bring people back to live
and return them to a state of non- living with a touch. Morbid?
Hardly. It's done so cheerily =) puts me in a good mood =)
The show isn't quite utopian, but its different from reality. Abit
like a mix between reality and cartoon =), well at least the
whole setting gives me that sort of vibe. The colour palette used
certainly resembles a cartoon too. Cheery, cute colours, abit of a
contrast to the number of people dieing on the shows. Although
the deaths are utterly un-morbid. The show makes their death
so.. daily routine, happening everywhere, nothing out of the
common. And the revivals to be something thoughtlessness.
Saying something here?
The lead, Lee Pace is kinda charismatic & cute if I may say so
haha. Not the typical hot & handsome type.. but heck.

By the way, I desperately need a new Playstation 3 console. D-
E-S-P-E-R-A-T-E-L-Y. My PS2 is in tatters. Thanks to my
wonderful dear brother who only knows how to wreck it by
playing his football games 24/7 and deleting my saved games to
make space for his frigging football games. DUDE... I reached
GENERAL level in Star Wars 2: And he just deleted it AWAY.
POOF! Magic show like that. AARGH. My racing games which
I'm a lil' away from completely just evaporated into the air too.
GREAT. GREAT. GREAT.
Considering how I recently suck at playing games, it is going to
take me forever to get back there. I'm sorely in need of practice.
Sorely in need of time too.

Dragonball moive
I think that Justin Chatwin (The son in War Of the Worlds, and the guy in The Invisible) is really pretty darn hot...
But him as Goku in the Dragonball Z movie seems abit miscast. Heck..If I didn't know that Goku wasn't Asian, and is in fact an Alien... I would be totally repulsed by this casting. But the movie poster does remind me of Sky High haha.
(The Orginial Dragonball series)
On the other hand, overall.. if you have seen a couple of other stills on the net, I think the movie is really reminiscent of Speed Racer. High chance of a bomb.. HUGE bomb... Sad to say, 'cos I did kinda like the series back then. It was pretty nice. But.. Justin Chatwin is much hotter than Emile Hirsch on a brightside.. Maybe it might turn out good.. Who knows ? :D

Indian Jones 4: The Kingdom Of the Crystal Skull
It was nice. Good movie. Kept me glued to the screen
throughout the whole movie. At least I didn't have an isatiable
urge to walk off. Well other than one point of the movie. That
whole part made me want to gag. Which part? This Part:
Where Harisson Ford & Shia LeBeouf found Orellana's cradle.
The whole part looked like it came from a B-grade, low budget
movie. It was completely fake. The natives there didn't look CG-
ed. But their make up was horrendous, the way they died was
just cut grade. It looked like one of those spoofs that can be f
found on youtube. They completely did not look realisitc. To be
honest, it was kind of like a school play. Quality control people!!
But I didn't quite like the alien plot either. Would have been
better if they kept to good old Incan legend. El Salvador, city of
gold, instead of making it into the city of treasure where the
treasure was knowledge from ALIENS. *Rolls eyes at this
point*. Kinda cheesy. It just didn't quite suit the whole plot, the
whole context.
Still, it was enjoyable and nice. Not the best movie, probably
didn't live up to its name, thank god I didn't have much
expectations, but I did like it nonetheless. Shia LeBeouf rocked
out again. His acting was good. A natural actor. I kinda miss
Even Stevens on Disney Channel. His facial expressions are all
so realistic! Not that the rest of the actors were bad either. He
was hot. Charisma-exuding yeah! Indiana Jones of the next
generation! Well that is if he finishes school with an
archaeology degree and not be a motorcycle-greaser.
Particularly liked the sword fighting scene with Cate Blanchett.
The point where he became sort of the hero. Done his father
proud definitely. His hairstyle, and his character though
reminded me of Tommy Williams from Shawshank
Redemption.
The black, sleeked back hair, slighly puffing up at the top,
typical of the '50s era. Heh. Still kinda attractive. He brought a
certain fun to the screen. The young counterpart of the ageing
Harrison Ford. Definitely a Hollywood star to look out for,
especially if Steven Spielberg is favouring him. First and only
choice for the role after all.
The action was still good. Might have made the movie better if
there was more of it. It is still primarily an action movie.
Although the action scenes with Harrison Ford in it was slightly
wierd maybe because of his age. He looked so tentative, like he
was thinking everytime before he made a move in case he broke
a bone or something. But, not bad for a man his age. Although
his age did show.
On the other hand, Shia LeBeouf was all young man rage.
Dashing without any thought. The recklessness + his certain
degree of intellect makes the action E-X-C-I-T-I-N-G. Although
the movie on the whole never really got my blood-pumping.
Slightly simliar to all the other treasure seeking movies,
National Treasure included. Must all the hiding places of the
treasure be behind some sort of water body... At least this time
round they didn't trek through some mountain, but hiked
through a jungle instead. The water and gold element must
always be there. And there's always the greedy fat arse who
wants the gold all to himself and will inevitably be left behind,
and the perennial bad ass who wants to get to the treasure who
too will die. Of course the lack of technology (other than the
friggin space ships) in Indy makes it different from the high
tech world of National Treasure.
I won't comment on the directing. Not because it was bad. But
because I don't know what to say about it. Haha.
This is my second movie of the week. And if I have my way and
decide to abandon all hope of getting down to studying
tomorrow, I'll be enjoying yet another movie. Might watch 21,
except I don't really feel like doing so. Though, I might watch
Kite Runner online. :D

'Fear can hold you prisoner, Hope can set you free'
A wrongly convicted banker (Andy), jailed for the murder of his wife and lover.
Raped in prison by three pervertic crazed felons
Makes lifelong friends with Red & Co.
Takes a young clueless boy under his guidance who is killed.
Digs his way out of prison, through the faeces pipe.
Other choice quotes I can't really remember but love:
Prison takes the life out of you, the part that matters anywhere - Morgan Freeman as Red
Salvation is truly within (the bible) - Tim Robbins as Andy [ Only watching the movie will result in the irony here ]
Love for the movie. <3.>
Here's why its so wonderful:
1. The actors rockk. Everybody from Tim Robbins (Andy) as the lead to Gill Bellows (Tommy Williams) as the young promising man who got murdered without justice
2. The cruel irony of prison life. That life outside can be tougher. That even as a respected man in the prison, discrimination by the public minutes you to a small particle, insignificant by any standards
3. It's just thought provocating. Wonder what happened to the rest of the characters. I just wished that Andy had offered the help he had given Red to the rest. Which begs the questions that has been put forward: Perhaps the ending is just a figment of Red's imagination. But do I belive so. Nah. Hope is good. Being a cynic probably wouldn't make a very happy person.
4. The bastard Prison Warden Norton. Bastard. But he does add a certain other dimension to the movie. Worst thing he ever did - confine Andy to 'the hole' for 2 months and kill Tommy Williams for telling the truth. His death at the end is just gratifying. A bullet definitely not wasted.
5. Tommy Williams & Andy Dufene: Short lived relationship on screen. But great chemistry. Andy was just like a big brother, taking care of Tommy, giving him hope by educating him. Hope to take care of his wife and young child, to escape the fate of Brooke. But the bastard Norton had to take it all away, just like the way he crushed the cigaratte. So easily and cruelly with a twist of his foot. Man did he deserve to die. (: Makes me happy to say he deserves to die haha.
IF you dont' know what i'm talking about, then you are missing out.

Bloody pissed with Geog teachers. They did not mark our Geog mock papers. Returned them to us, exactly the way most of us handed up last Tuesday, with the exception of those doing badly. And apparently they took the overall results. Well, didn't the thought that perhaps, some people who did better in SS could have put up their horrendous Geography score ?!?!?!. Stupid. And furthermore, they were grumbling about how we did not put in effort, and we answered our questions wrongly. Sorry to say, but, if you are going to mark only bad papers, then I don't feel its right to criticise the rest of us for not studying! Which just begs the question: Why did I even study in the first place. To test my speed?? Well, I don't think that there's anything wrong with my speed.
Which brings me to my next grouse about our education system. Seriously, speed of handwriting should not be such a major factor. Sure, talk about time management. Talk about, if you know your things, you know ur stuff, time will not be a factor. But the problem is that some people write slowly. Speed at which your hand moves probably won't play too big a role in the future where computers are a major part of our lives will it! Maybe we should be more forward looking?
And the other day, while watching news on channel 8, I caught the segment on Hong Kong schools being encouraged to switch off air conditioning to conserve energy. FREAK. Our classrooms dont' even have a single air-con in sight. We bear with the summer heat. And they are complaining of temperatures scaling 28degrees. Yah right. Temperatues hit 33 + degrees here. And even this sounds hypocritical for temperatures went much higher in other countries like India where air conditioning is such a luxury, where food might not come at a daily basis. Its like Hong Kong is turning into a Mega Indoor stadium, and Singapore falls behind in the development race while other countries languish in poverty. * Income disparity alert *But maybe, in an ironic way, we are more advanced? For we do not need to devise a 'no air-con' day to conserve electricity.
On to my own personal indulgence:

HehHeh. Bloody pretty. Love this red. The PS3? WHATEVER. Until they make the PS3 sleaker, slimmer and in this shade, then thats the real deal. Srsly, the design of the PS3 is a step back. Big and bulky. The PS2 owns it. And my hands are itching to play NFS or some fighting game or a war game. Need some adrenaline. Pity I suck at racing games these days after not playing for such a long time. Nvm, AFTER THE O's I SAY.
Sigh. I couldn't get the ink cartridges of Wijaya's new printer working for me today. I SUCK.
